Trinity Lightweight Texas
Located on the shores of Richland Chambers Lake, Trinity Lightweight's Streetman, Texas facility is the largest single kiln lightweight aggregate plant in the country.
The plant began operations in 1972 with an original feed rate of 38 tons per hour. In 1978, the plant was upgraded to increase production capacity to 85 to 90 tons per hour. The plant is surrounded by more than 2,100 acres of land, providing enough raw material reserves to last at least 75 years.
The Streetman plant supplies the Texas asphalt surface treatment market with enough material to service between 4,500 and 6,500 miles of roadways annually. It also produces lightweight aggregate for structural lightweight concrete and lightweight concrete masonry. In addition, the Streetman plant is critical to the production of such products as Diamond Pro®, intraCure™, PaveGro™ and TruGro®.
The plant employs about 60 people whose average tenure is 16.5 years of service.
